Big Fat Pecan Sticky Buns

Activate yeast: Combine warm milk, yeast, and ½ tsp sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
Make the dough: In a stand mixer, mix flour, salt, and ¼ cup sugar. Add yeast mixture, then knead with a dough hook. Add softened butter one tablespoon at a time, then knead on low for 5 minutes.
First rise: Form dough into a ball, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
Roll it out: On a floured surface, roll dough into a 10×20 inch rectangle.
Add filling: Spread melted butter, then sprinkle evenly with brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon. Roll up tightly.
Cut rolls: Slice into 8 large rolls (or 12 smaller if preferred).
