Preheat the oven to 200 °C and line a baking tray with baking paper.
For the topping, cut the onion into small pieces. Stir the crème fraîche with some cream until smooth. Then mix in the onions, ham, cheese and chives. Season the mixture with salt and pepper.
Spread the topping evenly over the slices of toast and bake in the oven for 10 – 15
