Science does not yet have all the answers, but several avenues are emerging:
The current lifestyle is to blame
Our plates are often too full of processed foods, sugars, and saturated fats… While our physical activity decreases , obesity, diabetes, and chronic inflammation take hold, increasing the risk of certain cancers. Tobacco, alcohol, and lack of sleep also play a significant role.
The environment, from a very young age
Pollution, pesticides, plastics, endocrine disruptors… Early exposure to certain environmental factors could create a “favorable environment” from a very young age. And the longer the exposure, the greater the risk over time.
The microbiota, a new key player
You’ve probably heard about this tiny intestinal ecosystem that influences our health. Well, it’s now suspected of having a direct link to certain cancers, particularly digestive cancers. A diet low in fiber or overuse of antibiotics could disrupt its balance and weaken the body.
