As soon as the heart stops, blood circulation ceases. Cells no longer receive oxygen. Tissues quickly begin to break down. Bacteria naturally present in the body then multiply uncontrollably.
The mouth is a particularly sensitive area. It already harbors numerous microorganisms while we are alive. After death, these bacteria proliferate even more rapidly. Saliva changes composition. The mucous membranes become fragile. Pathogens can appear.
According to this doctor, kissing a deceased person directly exposes you to these germs. Mouth-to-mouth contact facilitates their transmission. The risk increases if the deceased person had an infection before their death. Some diseases remain active for several hours, sometimes longer.
